AL transaction June 27th

The Cleveland Indians traded Hank Majeski to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for BobbyYoung.

Majeski, a 40 year old infielder in his 15th season (missing 4 years during WWII), was hitting .152 with 4 RBI in 56 plate appearances. This was his 4th year with Cleveland and Hank hit .298 with 3 homers and 16 RBI in 130 plate appearances last year. He will fill a utility infielder role with the Orioles.







Young, a 30 year old 2B, is in his 6th major league season all with the Baltimore/St. Louis organization. He is .282 with 12 RBI in 197 PA's this year over 57 games. Last year he hit only .209 with 4 homers and 39 RBI over 138 games. He will take over Majeski's role on the Tribe.
