Frank Sullivan shutout Washington while allowing the Boston bullpen a day-off
and right fielder Jackie Jensen blasted a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Boston
Red Sox beat the Washington Nationals by a score of 4 to 0.

Sullivan(8-6) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He was stingy on the
mound, allowing just 6 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. Boston banged out 8 on
the afternoon.

Chuck Stobbs(5-6) was charged with the loss. He surrendered 8 hits and 2
walks in 8 innings.
