The red-hot Chicago White Sox defeated the Detroit Tigers by a score of 6 to 2
at Comiskey Park.

Chicago promptly took the lead in their half of the first with 2 runs using 2
hits. After an out was recorded, George Kell opened up the rally as he was
hit by a pitch. After another out, Bob Nieman stepped in and he drew a walk.
Les Moss then singled scoring a run. Jim Busby followed and he laced a
one-base hit, and an error was also committed, scoring the final run of the
inning. Chicago had a total of 7 hits for the game.

Harry Byrd(9-4) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. The
losing pitcher was Billy Hoeft(8-6). He allowed 6 hits and 3 walks in 5
innings.
