Harmon Killebrew rocketed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Griffith Stadium as the
Washington Nationals won a thriller over the Boston Red Sox in, 5 to 4.

The game was decided in the 9th inning. Jose Valdivielso drew a walk. Juan
Delis stepped up to the plate and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Mickey
Vernon then banged out a single making Washington the victor and beginning a
joyous home town celebration. Washington had only 5 hits for the night.

Dean Stone(5-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing no
runs. Ike Delock(3-4) was the loser. He pitched 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 5
hits and 7 walks.
