Gene Baker singled in the go ahead run and the Cubs rallied from a 4 run deficit to win 8-4 over the Cardinals.

Bob Rush allowed Stan Hack to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game and
Gene Baker had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Wrigley Field as the Chicago Cubs
beat the St. Louis Cardinals 8 to 4.

Chicago scored 5 runs in the 7th inning with the help of 5 hits. The big
moment was provided by Randy Jackson who made the Chicago fans a happy lot
when he lined a base-hit bringing in two baserunners. Chicago won despite
being out-hit by St. Louis 13 hits to 10.

Rush(8-7) got the victory, allowing 4 runs for the game. The losing pitcher
was Luis Arroyo(4-5). He surrendered 5 runs and 7 hits in 6 and 1/3 innings.
