Ray Boone cracked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Ned Garver went the distance at
Municipal Stadium as the Detroit Tigers beat the Kansas City Athletics 7 to
3.

Boone was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He lost the ball over the fence for
three runs in the 1st inning and popped a two-run clout over the fence (his
7th of the season) in the 9th inning. Detroit banged out 11 on the
afternoon.

The victory was credited to Garver(7-4) who went the distance, allowing 3
runs. Ray Herbert(2-6) was given the loss. He allowed 5 runs and 9 hits in 7
and 1/3 innings.
