The Chicago Cubs defeated the Milwaukee Braves by a score of 6 to 3 at County
Stadium.

Milwaukee never recovered after Chicago took the lead in the 2nd inning
scoring one runner utilizing 2 base hits. Chicago ended up with 7 hits for
the game while Milwaukee had 4.

Warren Hacker(3-7) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory.
Hacker got relief help from Harry Perkowski who gained credit for his 2nd
save. Gene Conley(8-5) was given the loss. He pitched 7 innings and
surrendered 7 hits and 5 walks.
