One run was the difference at Municipal Stadium as the Detroit Tigers defeated
the Kansas City Athletics 4 to 3.

Kansas City fell behind quickly as the Detroit offense came through in the
first inning when they scored 2 runs on 2 hits. Detroit out-hit Kansas City
for the game, 11 hits to 7.

The winning pitcher was Duke Maas(3-5) who allowed 2 runs in 5 innings. Al
Aber recorded his 3rd save. Vic Raschi(2-3) was given the loss.
