AL Transaction July 6th
The Chicago White Sox released 35 year old 3B Vern Stephens. Stephens, in his 16th ML season was hitting only .177 with 2 homers and 15 RBI over 69 PA's. Signed as a free agent May 2nd after his release from the Orioles, this once perenial all star and MVP candidate, couldn't seem to get going.
