Right fielder Hank Aaron had 4 hits at County Stadium where the Milwaukee
Braves beat the St. Louis Cardinals in 17 innings by the score of 5 to
4.

The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. Finally, Milwaukee
pulled the game out in the 17th inning. Joe Adcock delivered a one-base hit,
and an error was also committed. After an out was recorded, Del Crandall
stepped up to the plate and he would hit into a fielders choice resulting in
an exciting win for Milwaukee and a wild post-game celebration by the home
town fans. Milwaukee won despite being out-hit by St. Louis 17 hits to 12.

The win went to Chet Nichols(7-2) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. The losing
pitcher was Mel Wright(1-3) in relief. He was pinned with the loss despite
not allowing an earned run in his 1 and 1/3 innings of work.
