NL Transaction July 6th
The Philadelphia Phillies placed 2B Granny Hammer on the DL today. At 28 Hammner has spent all or part of 11 seasons with the Phillies. Granny has been struggling with injuries all year leading to his .225 avg with one homer and 15 RBI over 64 games. Last year he hit .273 with 15 homers and 73 RBI in 153 games. It looks as if Hamner will be out for a month.
