Roy Face pitched a complete game at Forbes Field as the Pittsburgh Pirates
embarrassed the Brooklyn Dodgers by the lopsided score of 13 to
2.

Pittsburgh took the lead off Carl Erskine in the first inning when they scored
4 runs on 4 hits. That early scoring was all that Face(4-3) needed.
Pittsburgh totaled 17 on the afternoon.

Erskine(8-7) suffered the loss. He gave up 8 runs in 3 and 2/3 innings of
work.
