Ray Monzant tossed a complete game as the New York Giants outscored the
slumping Pittsburgh Pirates 8 to 3.

Monzant(4-0) pitched a fine game. He was reached for 10 hits and 2 walks in 9
innings reducing his ERA from 3.91 to 3.66. New York finished with 8 hits in
the victory.

Dick Littlefield(1-8) took the loss. With the win, New York continued their
winning ways; their streak now stands at 6 games and counting. Lou Durocher
was clearly happy after the game -- 'Everything is clicking for us right
now.'
