AL Transaction July 8th
The Baltimore Orioles claimed George Zuverink from Detroit Tigers on waivers. Zuverink, a 30 year old righthander, was 8-13 with a 4.49 ERA last year over 210 innings pitched. In his 4th season this year, he has posted a 1-1 record with a 3.18 ERA over 28 innings pitched. Baltimore Skipper Paul Richards plans on using Zuvernik as a long reliever and spot starter.
