AL Transaction July 14th

Oakland, of the PCL, sold Hal Brown to the Baltimore Orioles. Brown, a 30 year old righthander, is in his 5th season and now his 3rd team. Last year with Boston, Brown was (1-2) with a 4.37 ERA over 117 innings. He will pitch mostly from the bullpen.

To make room the Orioles have sent down starting pitcher Duane Pillette. Pillette a 32 year old righty, was (8-13) with a 3.65 ERA over 25 starts and 180 innings for the Orioles last year. This season, struggling with arm problems, he is (0-2) with a 4.79 ERA in 5 starts and 21 innings pitched.
