One run was the difference at Municipal Stadium as the Cleveland Indians
defeated the Washington Nationals in 10 innings 3 to 2.

in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Jim Hegan drew a walk. One
out later, Bobby Avila came up and he tripled making Cleveland the victor and
beginning a joyous home town celebration. Cleveland had 8 hits for the
