In a good matchup it was the impressive Brooklyn Dodgers 8, the Chicago Cubs 6

at Ebbets Field.



Brooklyn brought 6 runs across the plate in the 4th inning when they had 5

base hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Duke Snider who brought the

crowd to their feet when he doubled which was good for two runs. Brooklyn

had 11 hits for the game and Chicago had 8.
Jimmy King, of the Cubs hit a homer for the 3rd consecutive game and 5th in seven games.  



Don Bessent(2-0) got the win allowing 5 runs in 7 innings. Ed Roebuck was

credited with his 6th save. Jim Davis(4-2) was the losing pitcher. He

allowed 7 hits and 2 walks in 4 innings.
