The Cincinnati Redlegs sent 26 year old righthander Steve Ridzik to the minors today. In his 5th season, Ridzik started the year in Philly and was (0-1) 1.64 in 11 innings. Last year with the Phillies he was (3-7) 4.45 in 83 innings. After the April 30th trade to Cincinnati, Ridzik has really struggled going (1-2) 7.42 in 30 innings. Redlegs pilot Birdie Tebbets said "As we are now in the race we really can't afford to give Steve the time to work out his problems up here".
To replace Ridzik on the roster the Redlegs called up 26 year old infielder Milt Smith. Smith will be making his major league debut.
