Johnny Sain. Sain, 37 years old and in his 11th big league season, has struggled this season. Last year he led the American League in saves with 18 and was 6-4 with a 3.55 ERA in 79 innings for the New York Yankees. After a slow start this year The Yankees traded Sain to Kansas City. So far this year he is 1-2 with a 5.94 ERA in 50 innings pitched. From 1946- 1950 Sain won at least 20 games four of the 5 years with the Boston Braves.
