Don Zimmer went yard and had 3 RBI at Ebbets Field where the Brooklyn Dodgers
beat the Milwaukee Braves in 14 innings by the score of 10 to 9.
The score was knotted at 9 after nine innings. Brooklyn came out on top in
the 14th inning. After an out was recorded, Don Bessent drew a walk. Don
Hoak next to the plate and he smacked a single. Pee Wee Reese then laced a
single giving Brooklyn the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy.
Brooklyn lit up the scoreboard in the 9th inning which saw them plate 4 runs
on 5 hits. Brooklyn out-hit Milwaukee for the game, 21 hits to 16.
Bessent(3-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 3 innings and allowing no
runs. Ray Crone(3-4) was the loser in relief.
