Jim Busby singled in the winning run as Chicago downed Boston 4-3 in 12 innings. The Red Sox left 19 men on base during the game.

The Chicago White Sox edged the Boston Red Sox in 12 innings at Comiskey Park

by the score of 4 to 3.



The score was tied at 2 after nine. Chicago won the game in the 12th inning.

After an out was recorded, Bob Kennedy began the rally when he ripped a

base-knock. Walt Dropo came to the plate and stroked a one-base hit. Jim

Rivera then doubled resulting in a run. Jim Busby was up next and he lined a

single making Chicago the victors to the delight of the home town faithful.

Boston had 16 hits in the game while Chicago had 13, but Chicago had the more

timely hits.



Dixie Howell(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 3 innings and allowing

1 run. Ellis Kinder(3-4) was hit with the loss in relief.
