Richie Ashburn had 3 base hits and Murry Dickson was able to finish what he

started and was credited with a complete game as the Philadelphia Phillies

outscored the St. Louis Cardinals 5 to 3.



Dickson(6-8) delivered a fine performance for Philadelphia. He surrendered 5

hits and 4 walks in 9 innings and surrendered 2 homeruns. St. Louis made it

exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.



Floyd Wooldridge(4-3) was given the loss. He pitched 5 and 2/3 innings giving

up 6 hits and 1 walk.
