NL Transaction July 24th

The Milwaukee Braves placed 24 year old All Star pitcher Gene Conley on the disabled list today. This is a big blow to the 2nd place Braves as Conley was 10-7 with a 3.48 ERA in 20 starts. In just his 2nd full season the young fireballer was 8-15 with a 3.98 ERA over 27 starts last year, his rookie season. Milwaukee manager Charlie Grimm plans to substitute Ray Crone into the rotation until Conley can make it back.
