Rip Repulski singled in the go ahead run in the 11th and St. Louis hung on for a 3-2 win over Philadelphia and a doubleheader sweep.

Rip Repulski went deep and had 2 RBI as the St. Louis Cardinals outscored the

Philadelphia Phillies in 11 innings 3 to 2.



Both teams were tied at 1 runs apiece after nine innings. St. Louis ended up

winning it in the 11th inning. After two were out Bill Virdon doubled.

Repulski stepped into the batter's box and he stroked a single scoring the

run. St. Louis had 8 hits for the afternoon.



The win was credited to Tom Poholsky(3-4) who went 10 innings allowing 2 runs.

Poholsky was helped out by Harvey Haddix who recorded his 1st save. Robin

Roberts(10-12) suffered the loss in relief.



The St. Louis ballclub's record now stands at 40-54. With this loss,

Philadelphia has a 4-6 record of late, 43-57 overall.
