Joe Nuxhall pitched a complete game and Gus Bell had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as

the Cincinnati Redlegs defeated the New York Giants by the score of 4 to 3 at

Polo Grounds.



Cincinnati won the game with a run in the top of the 9th inning. Smoky

Burgess cracked a solo homerun (his 15th of the season). Cincinnati managed

8 in their victory.



The victory went to Nuxhall(11-7) who went the distance allowing 3 runs. Jim

Hearn(8-10) was the losing pitcher. He surrendered 8 hits and 2 walks in 8

and 1/3 innings.
