AL Transaction July 30th

The Chicago White Sox placed the AL leader in wins on the disabled list today leaving a large hole in the stretch run rotation. Dick Donovan, the 27 year old righty, was having a brilliant 1st full campaign in the majors. After 4 seasons with limited appearances, Donovan was 13-4 with a 3.08 ERA in 17 starts this year. He had 9 complete games and 3 shutouts for the 1st place White Sox. Last season with Detroit he was 0-1 with a 13.50 ERA in 6 innings. Chicago is hoping to have him back by the end of August.
