Chico Carrasquel had 2 base hits at Griffith Stadium where the Chicago White

Sox beat the Washington Nationals by the score of 5 to 3.



Chicago came up with 3 runs in the 2nd inning. The highlight belonged to

Bobby Adams who disappointed the partisan crowd when he laced a single

scoring two baserunners. Dixie Howell was perfect in relief and got the

save, his 5th.



Virgil Trucks(9-7) went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory.

Pedro Ramos(1-5) was charged with the loss. He pitched 8 innings and

surrendered 6 hits and 4 walks.
