Hank Aaron hit for the cycle and had 3 RBI as the Milwaukee Braves staged a

dramatic comeback over the New York Giants by a score of 6 to 5 at County

Stadium.



Milwaukee won the game with a rally in the 9th inning with 2 runs using 2

hits. After an out was recorded, Danny O'Connell keyed the rally when he was

hit by a pitch. Bobby Thomson next to the plate and he drew a walk. Chuck

Tanner then smacked a single, and an error was also committed, knocking in a

run. After another out, Eddie Mathews came to the plate and drew a walk to

load the bases. Aaron came to the plate and stroked a base-hit making

Milwaukee victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. Milwaukee

ended up with 12 hits for the game while New York had 6.



The victory was credited to Ernie Johnson(4-4) who went 1 inning, allowing no

runs. Windy McCall(5-5) ended up with the loss in relief. By surrending 2

runs in 1/3 of an inning his ERA jumped from 4.83 to 5.10.



'What a game!,' Johnson said afterward. 'When we won it I almost couldn't

believe it!'
