Babe Birrer tossed a complete game as the Detroit Tigers topped the Boston Red
Sox by a score of 7 to 3 at Fenway Park.
Boston fell behind quickly as the Detroit offense came through in the first
inning scoring a single run on 2 hits. Detroit had a total of 12 hits for
the game.
Birrer(4-1) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 3 runs. The loss was
charged to George Susce(3-6). He was unable to control the Detroit offense
and allowed 7 hits and 4 walks in 2 and 1/3 innings.
