ML transaction July 31st

The Cleveland Indians claimed Sal Maglie from the New York Giants on waivers. Maglie, known as "Sal the Barber", was 6-6 with a 4.51 ERA in 21 starts this season. Last year, for the pennant winners, he was 11-9 with a 3.70 ERA in 32 starts. In his 7th big league season, the 38 year old righthander was waived by the Giants to make room for some younger arms as the Giants look to have given up on repeating. The Tribe, although in a dire situation, are adding the veteran in hopes of repeating as World Series champs.
