Willard Schmidt went the distance and third baseman Ken Boyer lofted one into
the 'cheap seats' and had 2 RBI at Sportsmans Park as the St. Louis Cardinals
beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 10 to 3.
Schmidt(1-1) gave St. Louis a solid outing. He didn't allow much, just 6 hits
and 2 walks in 9 innings reducing his ERA from 4.66 to 3.86. St. Louis had
