Warren Hacker allowed Stan Hack to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game

at Wrigley Field where the Chicago Cubs beat the Philadelphia Phillies 6 to

1.



Ernie Banks had a big day at the plate. He blasted a two-run home run (his

27th of the season) in the 6th inning and doubled plating two runs in the 7th

inning. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.



The victory went to Hacker(7-9) who went the distance allowing 1 run. Robin

Roberts(10-14) absorbed the loss. He pitched 7 innings and surrendered 7

hits and 3 walks.
