Jim Rivera hit one over the fence and had 2 RBI as the Chicago White Sox

defeated the Boston Red Sox 6 to 4 at Fenway Park.



Virgil Trucks(10-7) had a fairly solid outing. He went 8 and 1/3 innings

surrendering 11 hits and 6 walks. Boston had 11 hits in the game while

Chicago had 8, but Chicago had the more timely hits.



Dixie Howell recorded the save, his 7th. Mel Parnell(4-3) took the loss. He

was unable to control the Chicago offense and allowed 5 hits and 2 walks in 2

and 2/3 innings.
