Catcher Hal Naragon had 2 base hits as the Cleveland Indians defeated the New

York Yankees in 11 innings by the score of 6 to 3 at Yankee Stadium.



Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. Cleveland won the

game in the 11th inning. Ferris Fain led off and started the attack as he

slapped a one-base hit. Two outs later Ray Narleski stepped in and he

singled. Larry Doby then clubbed a three-run home run (his 27th of the

season). Cleveland had a total of 7 hits for the game.



The winning pitcher was Narleski(7-2) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. The

loss was charged to Johnny Kucks(7-5) in relief. He gave up 3 runs and 4

hits in 3 innings.
