Lew Burdette tossed a 3 hitter as the Braves edge the Dodgers 3-1 and pull within a half game of Brooklyn.

Lew Burdette hurled a 3 hitter as the impressive Milwaukee Braves defeated the

Brooklyn Dodgers by a score of 3 to 1 at County Stadium.



Brooklyn never recovered after Milwaukee took the lead in the bottom of the

2nd inning scoring a single run. Milwaukee had only 6 hits for the game.



The victory was credited to Burdette(11-7) who went the distance, allowing 1

run. Billy Loes(6-5) took the loss. He surrendered 3 runs and 6 hits in 7

innings.
