Ray Crone took a no hitter into the 7th and finished with a 3 hitter as the Braves beat the Dodgers 6-3 and pull to within a half game of Brooklyn.

Ray Crone took a no-hitter into the 7th inning as the Milwaukee Braves
defeated the Brooklyn Dodgers 6 to 3 at County Stadium.
Crone(5-5) was in control of the game from the outset. He gave up just 3 hits
and no walks in 9 innings and allowed 2 gopher balls lowering his ERA from
4.87 to 4.66. The right-handed Crone had his no-hit bid broken up by Duke
Snider who homered with two outs in the 7th inning. Milwaukee managed 14 in
their victory.
Russ Meyer(4-3) was hit with the loss. He surrendered 9 hits and no walks in
4 and 1/3 innings.
