Ray Crone completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Milwaukee
Braves outscored the Pittsburgh Pirates 11 to 5.
Milwaukee wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring 3
runners on 4 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Johnny Logan who
brought the crowd to their feet when he cleared the fences for a two-run home
run (his 12th of the season). Milwaukee totaled 13 on the afternoon.
Crone(6-5) was the winner allowing 5 runs for the game. Bob Friend(7-10) was
charged with the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 2 and 2/3 innings of work.
