Dick Hall tossed a complete game at Connie Mack Stadium as the Pittsburgh
Pirates beat the Philadelphia Phillies 3 to 2.
Pittsburgh scored the deciding run in the top of the 9th inning. After an out
was recorded, Eddie O'Brien delivered a base-hit. Gene Freese followed and
he drew a walk. Jerry Lynch then drew a walk to load the bases. After
another out, Jack Shepard stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk scoring
the run. Pittsburgh managed 9 in their victory.
