Joe Nuxhall tossed a complete game and Milt Smith connected with a 'big fly'

and had 3 RBI at Crosley Field as the Cincinnati Redlegs beat the New York

Giants by the count of 8 to 1.

Cincinnati tallied 6 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning with the help of 5

hits. The key at-bat was by Smith who brought the crowd to their feet when

he lofted a three-run bomb (his 1st of the season). Cincinnati finished with

10 hits in the victory.

The victory was credited to Nuxhall(13-9) who went the distance, allowing 1

run. The losing pitcher was Johnny Antonelli(8-10). He got hit pretty hard,

allowing 8 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.
