Johnny Klippstein went 9 strong innings as the Cincinnati Redlegs beat the
Chicago Cubs by a score of 5 to 2.
Klippstein(6-5) had a strong outing. He didn't give up much, just 5 hits and
1 walk in 9 innings. Chicago made it exciting in the 9th, but they were
unable to push the needed runs across.
Jim Davis(5-4) was given the loss. Despite losing Stan Hack was optimistic
after the game. 'We'll get over this one. Sometimes the breaks fall your
way, sometimes they don't. Any one of a dozen little things go different,
and we come out on top.'
