NL Transaction August 7th
The Cincinnati Redlegs sent career Pacific Coast League all star Joe Brovia back down. Brovia, 33 years old, has been used exclusively as a pinch hitter since being called up on June 29th. Hitting .154 in 15 plate appearances with no homers or RBI, Brovia was deemed expendable by Redleg skipper Birdie Tebbets.
