George Susce held Kansas City to 3 hits as the Boston Red Sox won a dandy at
Fenway Park over the hopeless Kansas City Athletics, 2 to 1.
Boston won the game with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning. Gene Stephens
singled. After an out was recorded, Norm Zauchin came up and he ripped a
solo home run (his 24th of the season) giving Boston the win much to the
delight of the home town crowd. Boston finished with just 6 hits in the
victory.
Susce(4-6) allowed 1 run on the game. Tom Gorman(4-4) was the loser in relief.
He gave up 1 run and 2 hits in 1 and 2/3 innings.
