Ray Boone touched them all and had 3 RBI at Yankee Stadium where the Detroit
Tigers beat the New York Yankees 10 to 6.
Boone provided much of the offense. He smacked a single in the 2nd inning,
lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his 13th of the season) in
the 4th inning and hit a one-base hit plating a run in the 7th inning.
Detroit banged out 11 on the afternoon.
Billy Hoeft(12-8) allowed 6 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Joe Coleman recorded the save, his 2nd. The loss was charged to Tom
Morgan(5-4) in relief. His ERA increased from 3.25 to 3.83 as he allowed 4
runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.
