Roy Campanella had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Brooklyn Dodgers topped the Chicago

Cubs by a score of 7 to 6 at Wrigley Field.



The game was won by Brooklyn with a run in the 9th inning. After an out was

recorded, Pee Wee Reese drew a walk. Duke Snider followed and he doubled.

Campanella then stroked a one-base hit scoring the run. Brooklyn had 12 hits

for the game and Chicago had 7.



The winning pitcher was Clem Labine(8-4) who allowed 2 runs in 2 innings. Hal

Jeffcoat(4-7) was given the loss in relief. He gave up 3 hits and 1 walk in

2 innings.



With this win, Brooklyn has a 68-41 record. They have been 4-6 lately. With

the loss, the Chicago ballclub's record is 59-54.
