George Crowe hit a walkoff 2 run homer in the 10th inning giving the Braves a 7-5 win over the Cardinals in the 1st game of a doubleheader.

First baseman George Crowe hit a homerun and had 4 RBI as the impressive

Milwaukee Braves defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in 10 innings by a score of

7 to 5 at County Stadium.



The score was tied at 5 after nine. Milwaukee was victorious in the 10th

inning. Hank Aaron led off and started the rally when he drew a walk. Crowe

was next and he cleared the fences for a two-run home run (his 6th of the

season) making Milwaukee the victors to the delight of the home town

faithful. Milwaukee finished with 11 hits in the victory.



The win went to Ernie Johnson(5-4) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. Larry

Jackson(7-13) was given the loss in relief. No one has been able to stop

Milwaukee lately as they lengthened their winning streak to 6 games.
