Tom Brewer went the distance as the Boston Red Sox defeated the Washington

Nationals 10 to 1 at Fenway Park.



Jimmy Piersall enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He ripped a base-knock in the

1st inning, doubled in the 3rd inning and cleared the bases with a Grand Slam

homerun (his 6th of the season) in the 4th inning. Boston rapped out 11 hits

for the afternoon.



Brewer(13-7) allowed 1 run on the game. Spec Shea(1-6) was tagged with the

loss. He allowed 4 hits and 2 walks in 2/3 of an inning.
