Left fielder Roy Sievers ripped 2 homeruns and Bob Porterfield was able to

finish what he started and was credited with a complete game at Fenway Park

as the Washington Nationals beat the Boston Red Sox 12 to 4.

Sievers was unconscious all day. The Boston fans hated to see him approaching

the batter's box as he just kept delivering base hits! He smacked a three-run

homer in the 3rd inning, laced a single in the 4th inning and cleared the

bases with a Grand Slam homerun (his 20th of the season) in the 8th inning.

Washington had a total of 16 hits for the game.

Porterfield(6-11) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 4 runs.

Willard Nixon(7-9) was charged with the loss. He was touched for 5 hits and

3 walks in 2 innings.

'I had a big day, but there's a lot of credit to go around' Sievers said. 'We

played well together as a team.'
