Bob Kennedy left the yard and had 3 RBI at Briggs Stadium where the Chicago

White Sox beat the Detroit Tigers in 13 innings by the score of 8 to 6.

The game was deadlocked at 5 after nine full innings. Chicago came out on top

in the 13th inning. Kennedy opened up the inning nicely when he lined a

one-base hit. Chico Carrasquel came next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.

One out later, Sandy Consuegra stepped up to the plate and he slapped a

base-hit driving in a run. Consuegra took second on the throw. Nellie Fox

followed and he doubled scoring the final run of the inning. Although they

lost, Detroit did out-hit Chicago 19 to 16.

Consuegra(7-4) was the winner allowing 1 run in 3 innings. Babe Birrer(5-3)

was hit with the loss in relief. He gave up 3 runs in 2 innings of work.
