AL Transaction August 15th
The Kansas City Athletics placed pitcher Bobby Shantz on the DL today. The 29 year old lefthander is in his 7th season, all with the Athletics. A 24 game winner in 1952, Bobby has struggled with arm problems since. Last season he only pitched 8 innings and was 1-0 with a 12.96 ERA. This season he is 3-12 with a 4.23 ERA in 17 starts and 113 innings pitched.
