Don Larsen tossed a shutout at Fenway Park where the New York Yankees beat the

Boston Red Sox 5 to 0.

Bill Skowron was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine

day at their team's expense. He lifted one out of the park for a two run

home run (his 10th of the season) in the 2nd inning, delivered a single

scoring two baserunners in the 3rd inning and doubled in the 8th inning. New

York had 9 hits for the night.

Larsen(5-1) went the distance for the shutout. Frank Sullivan(12-10) ended up

with the loss. He allowed 4 runs and 6 hits in 7 innings.
